Liliana Vasquez - May 16
CENTRAL
Consumed by all things visible
Forget that voice so familiar.
Man gloats his glory and wives
But, what’s a wife without her husband?
What’s a snake absent of poisoning venom?
What’s a lieutenant with no troops?
What’s a soul without tallied friends?
To think this way is all too easy
But, look within to find its true meaning
Measurement blinds the relationship with oneself
Wives heal their inner child through nurture
Snakes fill their bellies in courage
Lieutenants carry their wounded troops with love
High-demand companions recharge in solitude
Forget not why we roam this land
Live for one’s own,
Not what one’s glory could be
1 This poem embark on the end of a chapter of people’s lives lived only for others
