The Drama of High School

Entered high school, alone and afraid,
Tried to hide my true self, knew I needed aid.
Met some old friends from middle school,
We all never cared about being cool.

But high school was different, felt judged everywhere I went.
Down my own spiral, I started to descent.
Then I met some new friends, left the old behind.
Finally, I could be redefined.

Found amazing people, who could lift me up when I was down,
Who made me feel like I was wearing a crown.
Fell in love with someone who I thought I could trust,
Turns out I was wrong, and the relationship turned out to be a bust.

When one of your best friends becomes your boyfriend,
There are untold consequences when that relationship comes to an end.
Our friendship could never be the same,
And neither of us were to blame.

Lost three good friends after a while,
With only one of them was I able to reconcile.
I wish I was born as a llama,
Maybe then I could avoid all of this high school drama.
