Dogs, cats, pets
All of their needs should be met
Yet some are neglected
Set up with no food or drink
For Christmas I want this to end
If a pet needs something, people will tend
No more euthanized pets because of overpopulation or disease
They all will receive care as soon as they feel sick with the slightest sneeze
This Christmas some may want something new and shiny
Something from a store, large or tiny
But I don’t want that, or something that serves no real purpose at all
I want people to take care of pets through any action no matter how small
Whether the pets are your own, or a shelters residents
You will make sure they receive your compassionate actions and deepest sentiments
Whether they are young or old
You will make sure they will be ok in the heat or the cold
Although what I want can’t be wrapped in Christmas paper
Can’t have glistening silk ribbons that dapper
For Christmas I want this
For all pets tor have the ability to live in bliss
